Pallets of various shapes and sizes are distributed across the country daily. In today’s fast-paced market, pallet distribution and delivery provide a safe and efficient method of transporting business goods.
In this guide to pallet delivery service we will talk about what it is, the different types of pallets, and how it works. Let’s hit the road!
What is Pallet Distribution and Delivery?
Pallet distribution and delivery refers to the safe transportation of your pallets from point A to point B. Pallet distribution and delivery services are provided by many logistics firms, making them an important part of providing successful and efficient courier services.
Types of Pallet Deliveries
There are four types of pallet delivery that you should be aware of:
Pallet Courier – These are services involving the transportation of one or two pallets.
Full Load Service – When you require the entire space in the vehicle/trailer, this is the service for you.
Part Load Service – This service is ideal when you only have a few pallets of goods to deliver. The service entails sharing vehicle space with pallets from other customers.
Dedicated Service – This entails having a dedicated driver come to you and pick up your pallets before delivering them directly to the recipient. Unlike full and part loads, this service does not require storage and is an express delivery service.
How to Choose the Right Haulage Company
As the world becomes more interconnected, customers expect the companies they buy from to provide quick and efficient service. People expect their purchases to be delivered in a timely and convenient manner. Businesses must look for the best solution to ensure that their products are delivered to their customers on time and within budget.
If you are one of these businesses, you are most likely considering haulage or pallet delivery services. Before deciding if a haulage company is the right choice for your business, ask them the following questions:
- What loading and unloading methods do they use? This will help you determine if you need to invest in a forklift to load your goods.
- Can they supply you with pallets, or do you need to get these yourselves?
- Ask about the safety of your goods. Are their drivers fully trained? What types of fleets do they have? Do they have a tracking service in place? It is also highly recommended to insure your goods to put your mind at ease.
- Are your goods suitable to be shipped using the pallet delivery method? If not, what alternative options are available?
- When can you expect your goods to be delivered? Do they offer domestic and international services?
A good haulage company can significantly impact your logistics process, from ensuring that your goods are properly stored and cared for during transportation to delivering them on time. As a result, it is critical that you choose a dependable, experienced, and reputable haulage company.

Pallet Sizes – What can you ship?
Each type of pallet has different restrictions on size, weight, and height. For example, full pallets cannot exceed 1.2m x 1m x 2.2m, light pallets cannot exceed 1.2m x 1m x 2m, and half pallets cannot exceed 1.2m x 1m x 1m.
Furthermore, full and light pallets cannot exceed 1000kg and 750kg in weight, respectively. Half pallets have a weight limit of 500kg. Assisted loading is not available for any goods exceeding 750kg.
All pallets have size and height restrictions in addition to weight restrictions. Goods must not exceed 2.2m (full pallets), 2m (light pallets), or 1m (half pallets) in length, including the pallet base.
In addition to the previously mentioned pallet types, a quarter pallet is a 1.2m x 1m pallet with a maximum weight limit of 250kg. A mini pallet is a 1.2m x 1m pallet with a maximum weight limit of 150kg. An oversized pallet is one that is longer than 2.4m, heavier than 1000kg, and taller than 2.2m.
